Use social media (Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, etc.) and blogging. Get your friends and family in on your enterprise. Also, give your Etsy customers incentives for visiting your standalone website. Loyalty to you gives them all the reason to check it out. For an additional award, like 10% off or something, you can start getting word-of-mouth flowing. Pair that with your own social media PR, and you'll gradually build up website visits overtime.

For me, posting blogs to social media has worked the best. It just seems to generate interest in things I've already written while linking me to potential customers.

You could try promoting your site on sites which potential customers regularly visit. It could be on forums, blogs or question and answer sites. You could get some traffic and probably potential customers from these sites.

Another way to draw traffic + prospective customers your way is to offer discounts to anyone who buys something from your site. Share promo codes on social media and as most people love deals, the promo codes will draw customers your way.

Extensively promote your site on social media. You can also try paid advertising on social media. The sponsored posts on Facebook get a lot of visibility and brings in good traffic. I am thinking of buying advertising on Facebook for my own site.

It depends. Honestly. :D Sometimes I prefer the word of mouth, mainly because I don't want to invest money for a side gig. On the other hand, Facebook ads (if done correctly) can be an amazing tool, but only if you do your research right.

Honestly, become a master of each traffic source one at a time! Do this with social, PPC, good tracking, and a fast server, you will get the traffic that converts!

With an online store, I would have to agree with some posts that social media is a great tool for promoting your business and at the same time you are already prospecting since the first ones to read your promotional posts are your friends (whether real personal friends or just social media friends). The most important part is when there are inquiries that you can reply to with a very substantial explanation. An inquiry may be serious or just meme but still, the point is that you are given a reason to reply.

Maybe posting in forums can also help because forums are usually inhabited by members who are active (opposed to passive) and their interest may be aroused if you properly craft your promotional spiel.

My favourite method is based on the power of word of mouth. The method involves introducing a customer in a green area to your product or business and then using him as a marketing agent. Roping in such a customer would require that you give out a free sample. However, this method only succeeds with products whose effectiveness is outstanding. Another favourite method is direct marketing which one notes from shop to shop pitching for his items.

Social Media is powerful! Also, be consistent! people will begin to expect to see you and if not they might forget about you. Don't spread yourself to thin but test and see what works best for you! Think of a way to get those people who are just viewing once, to continue viewing over and over then purchasing

As they all say, Social Media Marketing is now a very popular and powerful tool in helping you market your business. In most cases, they are free but if you want to be more competitive, you also have to avail the paid Facebook and Instagram ads as they reach more people...meaning not only your followers.

Another method is SEO or Search Engine Optimization. This is still one of the best approaches in helping your website in the process of getting traffic and boosting its page rank in google search engine. Our company just hired a SEO company to help us assist with all our marketing campaigns. We cannot do this alone so our management decided to get a professional one and so far, our website can now be seen on google's first page and sometimes on the 2nd.

For a method to attract my market, I would like using marketing collateral like social media sites to post advertisements to be able to reach my customers from time to time.

When it comes to effective marketing methods, one of the most widely practiced methods is direct marketing. In direct marketing, instead of wasting a company's invaluable funds on expensive marketing methods, inexpensive means of communication are used to market the products and services to only those people who are likely to be interested in the product or service being marketed. In order to have a cost-effective and efficient direct marketing strategy, you will need to use a business mailing list.

Because my main profession is personal training, I have great success with requesting referrals from exisitng clients. In fact, I prefer it this way. I ALWAYS get customers that mean business through this channel. In my experience with personal services, referrals are the best way to go.

Have you thought of reaching out to the Hispanic Community with a Spanish translation?

Some stats
According to U.S Census Bureau, on July 1 2015, Hispanics constituted 17.6 percent of the US nation’s total population, making people of Hispanic origin the nation´s largest ethnic or race minority.

By 2060, the US Census Bureau estimates that the Hispanic population in the US will stand at 119 million and constitute 28.6 percent of the total US nation’s population.

Hi Exequiela,

I have thought about reaching out to the hispanic community at various points in my career. My spanish needs some work.

I think the one thing holding me back from taking that approach is the fact that i want the interactions with my clients to natural and deep.

Best,

Amir

You can attract customers or a target market these days by promoting your product or services by an online marketing. You can initially do it by social media platforms like Facebook, IG and Twitter.

I personally prefer direct contact over a phone, its nice to know who buys your products and why.
internet is valuable late in the night for Skype meetings or researching possible customers but by day I tend to meet via the phone and use email constantly to stay in touch.

I'm not a fan of Facebook or twitter although many swear by it, I rarely use it. Seriously who wants to know what someone had for lunch amongst the business topics?

Yes, sure. You would also need someone who speaks Spanish in your team or you could have a translator or agency translate your hispanic cutomers requests, etc. It all depends on your business and how much you are willing to spend.
