ROI (return on investment) is the net profit, i.e. gross income minus expenses. When I opened up my boutique, I was thinking of earning a minimum of 20% a year for my total investment. And if my business goes well, it can be almost unlimited. Some businessmen I interviewed said that 50% of ROI in a year is realizable, that is one reason why they give bonuses to their employees.
