Working from home and flexible hours are the biggest perks for me. I think I'd be bored out of my mind if I had to commute to an office every day.

You give an interesting view on starting your own business especially around being your own boss and contributing to your community. I think those points really resonate with entrepreneurs.

I wrote a blog on this topic for an Irish formations agent but the information applies to any country.

I do agree with all these benefits but some of them are a bit of a double-edged sword. For example, working from home and managing your own time gives you a lot of freedom, but it gets harder to separate your work and your personal life. It's easy to fall into extremes, either procrastinating a lot or overworking yourself to an unhealthy degree. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you want to be your own boss, try not to be a sh***y one :D

True to an extent but if you're not able to separate work and family when working from home, you're not doing it right and you probably need to rent a small office. However, with a bit of practice and some boundary setting, working remote from home works very well for many people, including me and two of my sons.
