Whether you are a solopreneur or a small business with a few dozen people, email marketing can be a strong foundation for your overall marketing plan. Here's why.
  1. Email marketing has super low start-up costs
  2. You own your subscriber list and can control what they see
  3. Email helps with every stage of the funnel
We've created this small business email marketing guide to be your resource center. You’ll find all the tips, tricks, and know-how to help you grow and manage an email marketing operation with a return on investment that’ll put a smile on your face.

Email marketing for small businesses starts with collecting email subscribers and sending them content and offers that in the end, hopefully, turn them into customers. Small businesses tend to put email at the center of their digital marketing efforts because of the low start-up cost for email service providers like MailerLite, but also because it’s one of the only "owned" channels. You own your email list forever and you control your content.
Why is that important? Small businesses that spend their limited budgets on things like Facebook will never have access to their followers. They also can’t control who sees their content. And, if you stop using Facebook or they delete your page (which happened to us), all those followers are gone forever. Yikes!
Email marketing puts small business owners in control of their marketing assets and gives you the tools to continually grow with minimal investment.

Benefits of small business email marketing

In addition to being cost-effective and owning your subscriber list, email marketing enables you to personalize the customer experience, which builds trust, drives traffic and generates leads. What else could you ask for?!

1. Personalize the customer experience

Segment your subscriber list and send them targeted messages based on their interests, preferences, and behavior. This ensures that your subscribers are receiving relevant information that is tailored specifically for them.

2. Build trust and credibility

When you provide subscribers with valuable content and keep them informed about what's going on with your business, you earn their trust and establish yourself as a credible source of information.

4. Drive traffic to your website

When you provide valuable content and relevant offers in your emails, include links to your website with a clear call-to-action so they can continue learning more about your business.

3. Generate more leads

Create landing pages or embed signup forms on your website so you can collect the email addresses of potential customers who have yet to make a purchase, and nurture them into a sale.

This is the biggest advantage email marketing has over social media IMHO.

There are so many things you have to oversee with social media, it can be overwhelming or chaotic. Yes, you have more engagement but it's all happening at a breakneck pace.

Engagement through email marketing can be a little harder to encourage but it is worth it. Your customer is focused and you have their full attention. The exchange is at a controlled pace, and less likely to go out of control.
