So I recently got this letter in the mail that contained all my personal business info (entity #, etc, etc) and an alert saying I was violating some compliance (ordinance # blah blah) and that I needed to call this 1.855 number RIGHT AWAY.

The letter was designed to appear as a legal letter from state government, at first, it was quite shocking to me, but after some cyber sleuthing I discovered that this was in fact a scam.

Be wary of letters saying you've violated something and are referring you through a 1.855 number.

I also made this thread on Reddit about the scam and it also has some good advice from others.

    Stay sharp!
