Methods to Monetize my Next Project...

I've slowly been working on content for a blog on Chronic Pain. I've also been doing a lot of brainstorming in terms of being able to monetize it. Obviously advertising like Adsense is important, but what do you think would also be good? I'm considering linking up with amazon in every post for self-help books and what not. Input is warmly welcomed.

Ya, Chronic pain is a hot topic. I'm only 27 but I have a lot of my own medical issues. It's one of those things that when you hear someone mention it, your ears just perk up. Especially because of the addiction issues and other implications involved.

This is a great market, and since she has a niche, she can get into affiliate marketing. To be on the safe side, I would use recommended/well-known businesses like Amazon affiliate too. • Sponsored posts. Once you gain enough traffic, you can try doing sponsored posts. You can either contact companies or wait for them to contact you. Since your blog is all about chronic pain management, you must sponsor related products like pain medicines, herbs or treatments. You usually have to write a review about the product and you get something in return from the company.

• Start a forum or even coach classes. Since you have experience in the condition, you can actually start a forum where people can post their experiences about having chronic pain. You can also coach people as to the ways you have managed to reduce your pain.

• Podcasts or webinars. You can create a YouTube channel or maybe set a fee for these videos or podcasts.

You are definitely starting out correctly. The first step is always to build up the site with good, quality content. The next step is to make sure it is all SEO optimized and then visitors should start coming into the site. Selling E books as someone mentioned above, is an awesome idea, particularly in the area(s) where you yourself have experience. You can also have paid membership in a special club or sponsor products that go along with your topic.

I've been using a link shortener with some minor success to monetize a blog that I no longer update. Basically you use the service to shorten a link to some content that you want to offer, for instance, the URL of a free ebook, add that link to your blog and for each person that clicks the link you get some money. As with everything else involving CPM you only will see any amount of money if your visitors reach 10.000 or more.

Remember that it takes months to get approved for AdSense, and you will need to foot the bill for hosting and a domain name for all that time without any form of income whatsoever.

I would definitely recommend that 'sell your own products' advice. Wordpress has plug-ins to help with that or there are sites like Payhip where you can open a store and sell products through their platform, start free then pay to upgrade if you want. Check around, do your research and due diligence, so you don't lose out. You're in a good niche.
