How to Chang Serial Number Of A Product

    Couldn't find out the information about it, so I think someone would be able to advise me on this.
    Would it be in breach of any laws and regulations to replace a serial number of a product we buy and then sell on? It is a medical device and I wrote to the MHRA, where we are registered. I don't think they would have any objections but I don't know if there are any other regulations/rules.

    The product and its packaging would have all other information intact (manufacturer name and address, CE, etc.). Just the serial number would be removed by a laser and replaced with our own.
